This style of painting dates to the 18th century when this technique was used. The tray is coated with a few layers of priming and oil varnish. This beautiful work of art is created with a few consecutive energetic and firm strokes with a soft brush and oil paints, richly diluted with linseed oil. The tray is then covered with three layers of light lacquer as a finishing touch and polished to brilliance.
